Sculptures
Reducing raw forms to a finished piece is how my artistic experience began. Initially I worked with marble, a stone I was attracted to by its translucent quality and it’s long history. Later, I began working with alabaster, a softer medium with luminocity similar to marble. I added work in slate, a very different material, more commonly used industrially.
These three types of stone have allowed me to create abstract works that offer an interpretive openness not found in representational sculpture.
